Ok, I want to know what you guys do. I want to be very nice about this, but it is getting out of hand. I workout during lunch and I get about an hour and a half including driving, workout, and shower. Almost every day I have people ask me how to do this or that. I had three people ask me questions today. When I workout I go from start to finish and there is no time for talking. I want to answer their questions, but I can't because I have a goal to reach. What do you do. I answer the best I can in a very short answer and then continue with my workout.

Well, you could just tell them you can get back to them when you aren't pressed for time, no?

Unless it was your responsibility to educate/train another, I'd figure out a polite way to 'brush them off' when time is tight.

Since you take the time to help out it doesn't sound like you're a jerk, but it isn't being selfish or unreasonable to get your "craig time" in first.

Besides, I can relate. I've always got people asking me how they can achieve the soft, pale look I've cultivated for myself ! (j/k)

I wear headphones while i work out . This always seems to do the trick .

Well usually time is always tight for me. I am in and out and I don't see them at any other time. The fact is I don't even know them. Does wearing headphones keep people from asking questions. Today there was a young kid about 20-22 and he wanted to know what to do for triceps. So I told him what I was doing right now. He went over to try it and was having a great deal of problems so he wanted me to come over and help him. There was another guy that likes me if you know what I mean and is always trying to get me to have a conversation with him. He was asking what I eat, and when, and if I eat the whole egg, or just the white. He was doing this during my set.

Thanks hh4u. I was wondering if that works. I think I will get some.:thumb:

Shave your head and walk around with a pissed off look!! :) :yell:

I could join the Albob, Tank, Irontime bald men of America club. NOT

I think the headphone idea is a good one. Also, if you just generally look bitchy people will keep away.

However, if that is not an option for you, I would just be polite and say something like, "I'm sorry to cut you off, but I'm really on a tight schedule here, I'm sure you understand.".

But, I really would see this as a compliment. People asking you questions and all...you must look pretty good! :)

you would'nt believe how many people ask my wife''whats wrong with Tank, why is he so intense today'',and she says''this is his time, let him be, and he'll be fine in a hour..i'm a firm believer in my time at the gym. yes i'll answer your questions, but please, let me get my set's in.its all about patients.i was taught by a really good friend to help out, but he also taught me about ''MY TIME'' in the gym.

You could get a shirt that says "F**K off, I'm training!".

Seriously, if you don't want to be bothered at all, the headphones will probably do the trick.

If, on the other hand, you don't mind spending a few seconds of your time, you could preface your remarks with something like "I've got 30 seconds before my next set. Let me show you."

Wear a hooded top and do shadow boxing between sets.

Honesty is the best way. Tell them you are on a time limit. They'll understand. If time allows go back to them and answer their questions.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I think I will be honest also, and tell them I am on a tight schedule. I am also going to get some headphones. I have wanted to do that anyways.

Get them to spot you on the bench press, write the letters F.U.C.K. accross your nuckles on one hand and K.I.L.L. accross the other. I garentee they'll never bother you again!!!
