A few raisins in your oatmeal...... friend or foe?

Well, its sugar - but damn it tastes good :D Brown sugar I like too... I dont think a few can be that bad, whats the label say?

Cinnamon is a mild thermogenic, I use that too...

1/4 cup serving about 60 raisins

Protein 1 g
Fat 0g
sugars 29 g

that is really bad

so 15 would have 7 grams of sugar if my math is right

I would stay away from the raisins. They are not worth the amount of sugar in them. Try cinnamon and some splenda. :D

Yes they may taste good but you know what would/will taste better? Get this- the taste of success once you obtain your new and improved leanness!:barf:

Its less than a cup of yogurt, but a 1/4 cup of raisins is more than "a few!"

dries fruit=sugar

look at the label of prunes and see how much sugar is in a serving, I can;t remember but I think it is pretty high last itme I checked.

The only time I'll eat dried fruit or something like raisens in my oatmeal is on a carb up. The small amount of fructose on my carb ups helps to keep me in a fed state ad replenish some liver glycogen.

before I joined this forum, I used to eat like almost 1 cup of raisins and prunes almost everyday..::suicide:

they taste good. I love raisens and dried fruits. Some peoples bodies respond really well to them. I know that for some strange reason if I eat a lot of dried fruit one day, the next day I get some really super cuts. It is cool, you need to find out how your body responds to certain foods and use them to your advantage. Nothing is bad. Don't create such food restrictions for yourself.

Out of all pf the dried fruits apricots (unsulphered of course) are pretty good on the GI table if you want dried fruits.

I eat these by the bag when I need a good snack...

I had raisins in my oatmeal yesterday and today.. oh well, back to apple slices

Raisins are good:lick: , tasting only. I quit raisins a few months ago. Bought a big bag once, and would eat like a handful several times a day :finger: . Know how it is Sara! Then to control my raisin munchies, I put the bag in the freezer. They tasted even better frozen:yes: Finally, I threw out the bag!

whats better than frozen raisins, is frozen blueberries mixed with cottage cheese and PB :)

^^ I believe a lot of gummy bears are sweetened with fructose too

Peace.
