ive noticed that i have more fat in my face than most people, especially around and under my chin, kinda stuborn fat i guess? also with my cheeks.

im about 17% body fat (was told so from my doctor about a week or so ago). if i were to get down to like 8% (yes i know it would be a challenge, but im up for it) would i see a noctiable different in the fat around my chin and cheeks? or is the only way to get rid of it surgically?

thanks!

you would definetly see a great change in your face once getting down to single digit body fat. plus you have to remember with higher levels of body fat most people will typically hold more water, some more in the face than others

You would notice a difference if you were to get down to that kind of body fat - but how soon you noticed the difference and the extent of that difference will vary.

Where people hold and loose fat is also largely determined by genetics - so if you are someone who naturally holds fat around your face then it is going to be one of the last places that you are going to lean out as well.

well, is there anyother ways to lower the fat in my face? i remeber reading on these boards once that fat from dairy products get stored in your lower stomach most of the time? (something like that) is there any fats that i should avoid that would go to my facial area?

Nope - what you heard was wrong. Nothing you eat will specifically make your face fatter.

danggit... is it possible that maybe its jsut baby fat? i was lookin at some of my older pictures when i was like 12 (haha yeah i know everyones always thin then) and my face looked a lot thinner.. im 17 now and just gettin over the acne phase... maybe it'll come off with it?

also whats a healthy body fat? im not tryin to look like a buff guy or anything, i just wanna get as thin as possible, and i have a prettty good diet and ive had some other people that really know diet help me with it. but is like 8 healthy? im 148lbs 5'7 and i think im about 15% .. (yes im scrawny, but i dont care for right now, just wanna see what i can do with my face) i'll see if i can get a picture up.

byee!

alright heres some pictures of me... go easy

the first is from around october when i was really into bodybuilding, but then i got busy with music and stuff like that, so now i just keep up a diet and some cardio here and there

can anyone give me an estimate of my body fat? and how thin i can get safely? i really dont care if i look super small, i just wanna see how my face looks with real low bodyfat... then i'll get back into the muscle building stuff down the road...

thanks!

How thin you can get safely??

What are you doing? At 17yrs of age all you are going to achieve is stunded growth and a sickly appearence.

You don't need to cut at the moment at all! You are small as it is and your BF% is looking fine (yes, your guestimation os correct - I'd imagine it looks about mid-teens, 13ish%). Your face is not 'fat' and any 'fat' you see will could likely be baby fat if that is what you experienced when you were hunger.

Take advantage of your youthful hormonal state at the moment - train hard, eat well and set your body up on a healthy and productive life path.

Why ruin your youth and taint your future??

I wonder if anyone else agress, but
I seriously doubt you are at 15% bf... from those pics, i'd say more like 10 or so

I don't agree he is as low as 10%. But he is probably less than 15%.

It is pretty hard to determine accurately just from the photos provided.

well, what if i stay around my current body fat?

cause i used to be much fatter about a year ago (before i got into any weight training) haha cause i was on the oreo, pizza, and moutain dew diet. now my diet consists of... chicken, oatmeal (lots of oatmeal!), cheese, some form of fitness bar every now and then, yogurt, salad, fruits, and maybe like pasta or a restaruant meal every now and then... but that isnt too bad right?

as i said early ive been really busy lately, and havent had the time or focus to do weight training, i do cardio every now and then... but i mostly focus on a diet...

will this still stun my growth? i figure i'll reach "my" healthy body fat if i keep on a steady decent diet or something like that? but its interesting about what you said about stunning my growth or running into future problems, i definately dont want that.

thanks! all of you! haha sorry for my questions, just teenage stuff i guess
