I've been injecting for years.. never have I had much issues at all. Blood here and there.. Well today I injected in the shoulder, aspirated and no blood, more so a yellowish thick liquid it seemed.. Obviously i didn't continue, pulled the needle back out and went again in another spot.. no issues on that spot.. Has anyone had this yellowish liquid? What on earth is it?

My cousin got this in his ass once. Just give your shoulders a rest bro. do a different spot for a few weeks. Really hard to tell what it could be.

Also when was your last shot? Same shoulder? The reason I ask, is that, in very very rare circumstances, you could be pulling out portions of you last pin, again, very rare and unlike but possible. How big of a pin were you using? Synovial fluid is in the joint, but hitting tissue effected by synovial sarcoma can be dangerous...the only reason I mention sarcoma is because it is most often found near the shoulders and hips, often cancerous, and appears as a yellowish hay color fluid

Well that sounds lovely! :mooh:

all what was said i have read during searchs.. Hard to find much.. It could be anything as stated.. My last shot in that spot was about 3 days ago. Im going to give it a rest... Also did read up on the "synovial fluid" gig..Kind of scary. I am using a 23g 1incher..

I only have heard a few other cases, some with the yellow liquid and blood but only happening with the views I saw in the shoulder region. Im gonna stick to other spots as well as get it checked out by the doc.. Doesn't hurt at all which I am not sure if it would..

I would definitly move to another spot. Yellow can not be good. probably a small infection.

I've heard someone else have this happen and I think it turned out to be a sterile abscess? I doubt you went inside the joint without knowing it and got synovial fluid but I guess it's possible. If it's not itchy or painful you're probably fine just don't pin there for a week and let it clear up

FloridaBoy, I keep trying to read your posts but that dam avatar keeps distracting me! GD!

Im like the rest, pin somewhere else for a while!

I also doubt your reached the synovial fluid. this would HURT. That is a pretty thick capsule you'll have to crack through. I am wondering if you hit a bursae sack?? There are a bunch around the acromion and the suprispinatus and biceps tendon. they have been known too "displace". Can't be certain, and this is also very rare, and the conditions must be almost too right.

A cysts sounds most likely, one that was developing. they happen quite frequently and the body usually just absorbs them. When they harden is what most people are familiar with. These may need to be removed, but the body is known to dissipate them as well.

It's only an infection if the are is red, swollen, and warm. If an infection was just beging, there would be some local inflamation which should make the injection painful.

Whatever it is, like all has said, Give that shoulder a few weeks off. Good luck.

I am guessing you don't rotate injection sites? I am thinking it could of been a small infection.

Rotate injection sites man every 3 days is to often. I agree with your doc statement thats a smart idea!
