how long after training a muscle group are the muscles actually growing for? like say you trained shoulders and chest on monday, when are they at their peak of growth potential?
 
Im not sure of the time course but when you work a muscle really hard, the tenderness kicks in ~ 24-48 hours after so that may be some indication.

You muscles start recovering right away. But for the natural it takes up to 4 days for full recovery.
 
It probably varies significantly from person to person.

Oh to be 18 again and fully recover in 4 days. Us fortysomethings need a week or more. :(
 
4-9 days depending on volume, intensity and age!
