Then she somehow hopped onto the subject of 'i hope when this does end we can still be friends'.

this means= i am not feeling the same way about you that you are about me and i think of you as a friend but i am too chicken to be upfront and say what i actually mean.

classic case of "i did not want to hurt him" meanwhile she is hurting you even more by not telling you what she really means point blank.

It sounds like IMO You sould think hard about dropping her and date her friend, And I know here friend is not as hot as her, nor as nice of an ass, but some thing are give and take. But trust me No Matter How Hot They Are They are Useless Without Honesty. OH and brains I hate stupid chicks.

Only if you decide to be. Bro, keep things in perspective. I'm not at all trying to be a dick, but you really have not invested alot either time wise or emotion wise into this yet. Think about it, why would you honestly be miserable? Yes, rejection sucks, but it should only REALLY suck when it comes from someone that seriously impacts your life.
