Can someone post up how this works and what it means. Red stars, silver stars the multi colored bars. How does it work exactly. Cant find any info.

Rep points and stars

Well my guess is as you gain rep points, after a while you run out of two levels of green icons so they add extra badges (the stars). So lets say you fill up all your dark green icons. You get more reps. Now you get a star and the green icons go back to light green. Then once they all fill up again with dark green you get a different color start and so on... etc...
Now I don't know the actual color pattern but that's the way the process seems to me.

This is pretty much it.
So how is it some have a shit ton of red stars. And others nave red and silver how does one earn silver?

I think it's 10 red stars equal a silver.
Again I'm just assuming since I don't have access to the backend here. However I do know vBulletin (the script used here) very well so my assumption is based on my experience.
Each click of the rep star at the bottom of the users postbit gives a predetermined amount of rep points. This amount is set by admin in the backend.
Admin sets the levels of rep points that receive the different icons. The more rep points you get you move to the next level and get that icon.
No one but a super mod or admin has access to the actual levels and what they give out to us. But I see it this way....
We fill up the green bars... then we get more reps and get a star. Then when we fill up the green bars again we get another star... and so on... That was a simple description with only one color bar and star. It seems there are multiple color bars and stars so there are many many levels.
