what good are they? i mean should i be doin them?

Are you referring to doing curls with an over-handed (pronated) grip?

I think hammer curls are better

If you are looking to develop your brachioradialis and brachialis, then it will help.

just make sure that when the elbow is fully flexed, the elbow is only able to travel forward a few inches allowing the forearm to be no more than perpendicular to the floor. This is a common mistake I see as it allows for a relative release of tension in the muscles between repetitions.

Why do you think they are better?
BB curls are very hard on the joints....any DB movement is 10x better

Unless you are doing them for forearms, I agree that hammers are far better. Forearms are the limiting factor when doing pronated curls, none of the bicep area will be challenged IMO.
