RIP Junior Seau

WTF? He was my roommate at USC in 88.. Suicide??? I can't fucking believe it.. seriously!!!
 
I am not overly shocked. I knew him when I lived in So Cal. He had had a "few" concussions at that time. By the time he retired he likely had a "few" more.

One of the most common symptoms of (multiple concussions) traumatic head injury is depression. Who even knows what else he has been going through till now. What a loss.

I am very sad for his family and friends.
 
Holy shit. I guess he wanted an open coffin goodbye.
 
His ex wife Gina Seau was a little Sister at my Sigma Chi Fraternity at San Diego State. I feel for her and their 3 kids. :(

He was doing quite a bit! He owns multiple real estate and restaurants..and not to mention, a Hall Of Fame LB and Pro Bowler.. Paid off his fathers house in Oceanside Ca and donated tons of money to charity- but you feel he should of done more??? Please!!!!!

I met Gina at their wedding when Junior handed out a pair of Nike's to everybody who was at the wedding..seriously, this shit is blowing my mind!
 
It's sad..I knew something was wrong when he drove his SUV of a bluff in Carlsbad back in 2010. He said he fell asleep. I never bought that story.

Gina was a sweetheart.....I only knew her when she was young.......but she was always so nice and a real cutie.

I know he was having some issues but suicide?? And a shotgun blast is weird? Normally not suicide from a shotgun ?
 
WTF! I saw him a couple years ago at his house in oceanside when I was cruising down the boardwalk. Tragedy.

I can't confirm shotgun............"Gunshot" wound to the chest is the initial report.

I just typed "shotgun" in my original post. It's just what I heard initially on the radio. Now everyone is saying "gunshot" I'm sure details will come out as to what type of gun it was.
 
Makes absolutely no sense how someone with lots of $$$ can get depressed.

Maybe he saw a major downfall on the horizon and knew he couldn't prevent it.

Too bad he went this route, but no sympathy for people who kill themselves.

I have zero sympathy for a guy who kills himself and leaves 3 kids to deal with that trauma. How the fuck are they going to feel knowing he didn't love them enough to want to stay here with them. Fucking cowardly asshole.
With his resources he could have availed himself of the best head shrinks in the world.
 
People have manic depression. It's pretty common in the States. I agree that's a bad way to go, but you don't know him nor do you know what he was going through. Either do I and I actually knew the guy..
 
Depression is an illness and a very difficult one to diagnose let alone treat successfully. Sadly this happens every day and we never know it, maybe this in some strange way will help someone else find help.

Side note: Everyone who ever listened to him, saw him play or knew him says the same great things about what a quality person he was. To my bros in here who knew him I'm sorry for your grief.
