i have ripped my bicep[not fully just the inner tendon]did 5 months ago have the chance of surgury should i have it or leave it.got 2 wait dot no how long should i train it in the mean time or will that shorten it further.

Well the tendon will shorten permenantly over time, 5 months is a long time to wait...however, if there is still a chance that surgery is going to help you function better, I don't see why you wouldn't want to go through with the procedure.

But, we aren't even medical experts or physical therapists, why would you ask us? Why don't you ask a doctor what the best thing to do is?

Not only that, but it will be a chronic problem.

You're tendons, and ligaments, are made of type 1 collagen when you're a child. They have half the tensile strength of steel. But as an adult, you can't synthesize type 1 collagen. You can only make type 3 collagen, which is half as strong as type 1. Which means that it will always be the weakest part of that tendon and prone to damage.

Long story short, this is why you need to keep them lubricated by exercising, stretching, and taking MSM.

I hope that it goes as well for you as possible.
