McDonald's is changing Ronald McDonald's image to be thinner and more athletic. New commercials will have Ronald juggling fruits and vegetables and encouraging kids to get off the couch, play soccer and skateboard.

What better way to promote fitness and a healthy lifestyle then to brainwash kids early on to eat at McDonald's.

Its a step in the right direction. Progress is progress, no matter how slow.

The last time I went into a Mcdonalds was (forced by my cousins kid) in Berlin in 1997. Had chicken mcnuggets, at least I think they were meant to be chicken, tasted more like polyfilla.

They talk about this kinda stuff in that documentary SuperSize Me. It's really interesting if you want it to be.

The bottom line is that we AS PARENTS need to be the single biggest influence on our kids' lives!!!!!! Don't have to sweat a commercial if we are using ourselves as the example to follow!!!!!!! Taking them thru the Drive thru is the easy way - teaching the value of good food as a source of energy and physical growth takes patience and effort.....if you throw your kid in front of the TV as an easy babysitter - expect Ronald McDonald to be their role model.

Okay, I have stepped off my soapbox.....

In case yall care, McDonalds is going down though. I am in high school and maybe its just the kids my age (17) that are getting a clue, but McDonalds is definitely avoided by even teenagers. i havent ate there since august (had a fruit parfait) and before that not in many years, and I won't. I know many people that don't either. Just though you guys should know, it really is not the fat machine it used to be.

This is why you dont eat at McDonalds.
Well there goes tomorrow nights dinner. what will i have now......Um MC D's....na. Think I'll go set a couple of mouse traps. Be right back....there that will do it. Should go nice in my omelet as long as i can get my wife to remove all the hair this time.

Screw depending on the parents to make right decisions for their kids... most kids get these eating habits directly from their parents, most of whom will never change. We need to educate the children; let them know that McDonald's is no good, and that eating healthy is essential. Shit, if I had known when I was younger that I was eating complete garbage all the time, I could have started eating healthily earlier.

Not sure if you meant Ditto, since that's the wrong word and all, maybe 'Exactly'. Anyhow, yeah I don't expect the empire to crash anytime soon, though sooner the better.

To the age thing, I gotta say, it really is important, the most important years to teach a kid to eat is probably 11-14, from there on out they have decided how they want to use their body, whether if it's to its peak or to lay around. I am glad I picked up healthy habits, now if I could pick up some typing habits and not use the backspace key every 5 letters.

I am happy you choose to lead a healthy lifestyle...

But as you will find when you get older, like 30...
Teenagers (in general, with acceptions) DO NOT have a clue, about anything...

This will never change

Yet he's still selling chips (fries) and greasy clumps of fatty beef (burgers)

Great message....backed up by an even greater menu...
