Can running be put in while lifting? or is running more of a cardio/cutting thing? I didnt have a lot of running in mind, maybe 30-45mins every other day so that i could get my cardio back up.

If you enjoy running, run. There are reasons why distance running isnt the ideal activity when youre trying to add muscle, but its really not catastrophic. Is the type of running important? If you could do sprints/HIIT instead itd do a lot to further your fat loss while minimizing muscle catabolism.

Yeah, Club soccer starts up, and i havent ran since May and my cardio isnt good at all. Does HITT help only with sprints or would it also get my cardio in-line?

actually mono, if there was one adjective to describe distance running in relation to hypetrophy, it would be catastrophic. It lowers your T levels, its raises your cortisol levels, and its very hard to keep up with nutritional demands with that type of stress. I am not trying to talk him out of running b/c it can bo good for some people, I used to run X-country for four years, very long distances every day, and I was like a buck 25 when I was running seriously. You aren't gonna bulk up thou while running long distances consistently

45 minutes every other day sounds like a lot of running to me. HIIT is exceptionally good at improving your physique and your endurance should skyrocket by the end of the cycle.

to me depends on the person i enjoy running a lot and i love the pressure when i do it, i run a lot and sometimes even up to 10 miles up the park city canyon....im not skinney and no one would ever think that im really fast... i was arguing about this with my friends the other night, he said that he could outrun the cops if he had to, he is like 6'3 and maybe like 160-65 pounds and a soccer player, it took me only maybe 10 seconds to catch him..........also i know a guy he is a sgt. in my training unit he is about 230 pounds 18%bf man that guy is big and he run marathons.....so it all depends man, but the other guys are right too.... do hit its will payoff in both sides cardio and fatloss.....

Yeah, youve got a point. All depends on what you and i consider "bulk", though. :D

No idea, i dont do HIIT, sprints, or distance running. ;)

so i'm going to take it that HITT and lifting during the same time is not a good idea?

It's not ideal, no. In a perfect world you'd lift weights in the AM, and come back 12 hours later to do HIIT/sprints in the PM. Since thats more or less impossible for most people, just find a compromise that blends best with your lifestyle.

45 minutes running everday? That is too much IMO, make it 3x per week if you like it.

I agree with this statement completely. I used to run distance also and know it strips almost as much muscle as fat. If you want to concentrate on soccer, then definitely do some long distance running. If you want to put on muscle mass, eat, lift, and do minimal if any cardio. The choice is yours.

HIIT is only done 3 times a week?
