I usually have Salmon once a week for dinner and maybe the next day's lunch. When I eat it, since it's high in healthy fat, I usually skip the Flax Seed oil dose I'd usually take with that meal....

Is my approach logical? Or should Salmon be treated more like fattier cuts of beef and had only once in a great while?

I notice each small filet has something like 41g of protein...pretty amazing....(also has 10g of fat though....)

If the salmon has all the fat that you need for the meal, then don't add the flax, if it doesn't then add something like a teaspoon of flax to make sure you're getting enough fats for the meal.

i saw a report on captive born salmon that are grown in farms they are not captured in the wild. I have tasted the captive salmons they are much much more fattier then wild alaskan salmon and dont taste as well. i try to avoid the fats on the farm grown ones. If your wondering just ask the guy at the supermarket if the salmon is alaskan salmon or atlantic salmon if he says atlantic most likely it is grown ina farm... then again he probably doesnt know but there is a difference if you eat salmon alot you will notice. They are not as healthy in my opinoin

These are frozen and purchased in bulk...I think it's very likely they're farm raised.

Like I said, I only have it once a week and skip the flax for that meal.....

I just don't like the "fisher" and lighter fishes. I like Mahi-Mahi, and that's considerably lower in fat.....

The higher fat fish the better. Eating it every day would be good.

You should also supplement with fish oil, which is better than flax.

I will re-iterate this point. I would do it, but that shit gets fuckin expensive if you are dosing it properly.

Is that fat for cooked or uncooked salmon? Some of the fat melts away depending on how you cook it.
