Hi, my name is Sandy. I am 43 and have tried to in the past gain weight through weight training and diet. As of now my problem is , i have just had a disc removed from my back 7 weeks ago and i am undergoing physio. How long should i wait before i can start to begin to train and begin to diet and what should i do . At present i am seriously under weight at 9st and i am 5ft 8in. I have lost over a stone and a half due to stress and not wanting to eat. PLEASE is their anyone out there that can help? Thanks

As for how long you need to wait, your doctor should have told you how long. You really should wait until your back it back to "normal" before you start working out.

You can start a new "diet" right now. It's always a good time to start eating right. You don't have to wait until you start weight training.

There are a few members that have has serious spine injuries and could probably give you tips.
