So you took the SAT in Michigan and live in GA. Notice Michigan went for Kerry and GA went for Bush. Your circumstance proves my point. If your vote counts in GA, but your SAT counts the data is wrong.

So I am guessing your parents voted GOP and that is how you voted. So you voted GOP in GA and they voted GOP in Michigan. Michigan went Dem and GA went GOP. Is this even sinking in yet?

I'll make it very easy. The only way that SAT scores could be correlated with the way a person votes is if they were asked who they voted for and then asked what their SAT was. This was not done that way, they took data from whoever does the SAT and then they figured out which states went which way. Also, the data assumes that each blue state is 100% blue and each red stat is 100% red. A large portion of the states were no more than 55% either way. So let's say States A has an SAT mean of 1200 and went blue. Now, of the 45% that went red, the average SAT was 1400 and of those that voted blue the average SAT 1000. It could go either way.

You're forgetting immigrants. (The legal ones, anyway.) Many come here in their late teens. So by the time the SAT's roll around, they wouldn't have been here long enough to do well on the English portion. Doesn't mean they're stupid.

Here is another interesting demographic analysis. In terms of political funding for a party, those who are faculty at Ivey League schools overwhelmingly support democratic candidates (I'm sure these guys have high IQ's, my alma mater is one of them...Dartmouth.)
