Well My friend who works out with me has been bulking and is just now cutting I think. He has been telling me that he doesn't see how to fit a diet in with school. My highschool is strict , we can't carry drinks around usually and definetly not food. The teachers may let a bottle of water to slip through. He told me to see what I can find out on these boards. I had the idea he could maybe eat some type of granola bar on the way to classes during break? Most granola bars are high in sugar though right? What kind of bar would he be looking for thats not too expensive.

Tell him to become a successful bodybuilder high school dropout :D

survey says "all bars suck"

whey shakes on the way to class like pre mix it and chug it on the way to class. doesnt sound great, but beats a granola bar.

ok

Ok, more replies welcome. Thanks you two

I am sorry that I didn´t respond to it seriously. :)
Try to convince the administration of the school, if someone had diabetes they can´t stop that person from eating proper food.
Really. I never heard of banning food from school it seems unreasonable. Tell me a reason why they don´t let food in.

You don't have lunch in school? What if you are bringing your lunch from home. I didn't have a strict school so i was usually able to drink a shake during class and eat something whole food during lunch. Just keep your food in your bookbag and ask to go to the bathroom, lol, or just drink your shake i doubt they would really take a protein shake away from a kid.

how about packing a lil snack and eating it on the way to class? pack a small portable cooler and have food precooked.

you have breaks between classes right? why cant he grab something then. most are at least 5mins.

Yea we do have breaks but we can't carry bookbags. It usually takes just the time we have to get to class. Drinks will be taken, they've done it before. It all kind of depends on his teachers I guess. Some are pricks and dont let anything slide while others don't care.

Yeah, i know exactly what you mean, i am a senior in high school. In mostly all of my classes you cant eat or drink in class(except water), so it is awful difficult to get in the reccomended 6 meals a day. Maybe a protein bar on the way to classes would work.

wow what kind of school is it Subliminal?

Id say just try to sneak a shake. or cook food and carry a lunch bag and eat out of it on the sneak

Tell the administration you are hypoglycemic.
I did that back in the day. They might ask for a Doc's note. (thats when having a dad as a doctor comes in handy)

You can eat a tuna sammich in under on minute. I do it all the time. Carry around boiled eggs in your pocket? Thats my handy trick for long hours in the library. Or maybe a really really really long straw would come in handy here?

....Not to rag on your school but they sound like fucking fascists.

Just tell the teachers and/or administration that you're diabetic, and need to eat often. I had a friend in HS who did that. No one ever caught on that he always ate low GI food, though.

Subliminal, I know what you mean I'm currently a senior in my highschool and their strict as hell too. Last semester I had 4 straight classes (5 hours straight of classes) and only 3 mins break inbetween classes to get to my next one.

What I had to do was I'd time my washroom breaks, ask to go to the washroom, then stop by my locker and down a MRP. Thank god I got 2 lunches this semester!

I am in the same boat man. My school doesn't allow food or drinks anywhere in the school but the lunch room, you just need to beat the system. There is me and my friend who have succesfully dont it. Time your meals so that you eat rite before class, then make a shake to keep in your locker. During class just ask to go to the bathroom and chug the shake. Then go to you lunch period.

I am lucky I have the perfect schedual so everything works out for me. 7am breakfast, 10am (3rd period) shake or grilled chicken, 1pm lunch in school. I just ask to go to the bathroom then bring my food in there and feast away. My friend always eats in class but I hate doing that, takes to long and you always have to watch out for teachers.

The diabetic thing works to, my brother was actually a diabetic and he use to eat 24/7 in class. I drafted this idea for a while and told them it was hereditary meaning I had it, I would really bust their chops by bringing like crazy gormet food in and just tell them my doctor is making me eat it heh.

There is always a way to manage 6 meals a day and they can all be to the strictest of guidlines, you just need to manage your time and figure out a routine. I manage 7 meals a day with minimal problems.
