i think whoever decided to call it the god particle is an idiot.

from what I have read the physicist that did that was intended for it to be a joke, actually mocking religion. as the "god" particle was the missing link as to how things truly have mass. theory had shown it's existence they just had to find it, the opposite of all religion as they are based on faith.

I like to think of it as the Homogenizer Particle. In my theorized idea of how this works it helps to hold matter together in this suspension of dark matter/energy, the great nothingness that was....
