All my life my left sholder has been a slight problem, if I stretched it across my chest I'd hear a pop, pop, pop, but generally speaking this wasn't a problem. Now, after 4 months of serious weight training if I hold my arm straight out, and have my forearm point up, and rotate the arm back, there is a pretty loud pop, which isn't extremely painful, but isn't the best feeling.

Hope this was descriptive enough, help most appreciated, thanks.

Does it feel like your shoulder joint? I have something similar in my left elbow.

ya i feel it in the joint for sure.

what ever it is you should start doing rotor cuff exercises

Currently having the same problem, it does not hurt, but a new popping sound has occured. turns out it was just bursitis and should only take a couple days to heal, thank god.

where can i find such exercises?
or what are names of some?

thanks.

thanks for all the help, gonna start those exercises right away.

Hopefully they mention use VERY light weights :)

Thats the doodad that makes you do the scarecrow position right? I've seen them a few years back when everyone said it was the magic to 15-20 pounds on your bench. Never used one but have used that position, you can also use a broomstick or just hold the position manually.

You REALLY should see a doctor!

I had/have the same problem that got incredibly worse over time. Finally decided to see the doctor that repaired my knee, after I couldn't reach up to turn on a light switch after a workout...turns out to be a partially torn rotator cuff. Not serious enough for surgery, but painful nonetheless.

He gave me SIMPLE exercises using household canned goods that helped...over a number of months (no quick fixes). This combined with NO front delt work has helped me.

Before I train, I load my shoulders w/ flexall and wear short sleeves (instead of skimpy "show-off" tank tops) to keep warm. No problem benching, rear delt work, or any pulling lat/back exercises. (I???ve backed off front delt work because my shoulders are overpowering my pecks) AND no excruciating pain after training!

Be very careful, take pain very seriously!!!

My 2 cents...

Basically the only thing that really hurts my sholders is side laterals. I've taken about 4 days off...and it seems to be feeling better, so we'll see.
