I'm sick of eating broccoli and cauliflower just about everyday. Any low carb veggie suggestions I can sub in to mix it up a bit? As far as veggies go, I only eat the previously mentioned, and green beans right now while trying to cut some body fat. It's getting old fast and it's only been a few weeks.

I've been using pureed broccoli or cauliflower as a base for my meals, instead of mashed potatoes. Steam the broccoli until it's just done, then grind in the food processor with salt and pepper and a little milk powder (so it doesn't get too wet).

If it does get too wet, dry it out by stirring it around in the frying pan for a minute or two. If you can afford the calories, top with a pat of butter. Some salted yogurt on top can work too (makes it like sour cream on potato).

I eat a lot of steamed green beans, too.

Not trying to be a dick here, but just man up and eat for nutrition. You don`t have to like it to eat it. I`m not a big fan of pasta or rice but I eat a few lbs of it every week.

Really?

I only ever eat what I enjoy.

If you're cutting and you restrict yourself to healthy foods that you don't love; odds are that you will defenitely eat less calories. Unless you're like Built and are made out of pure willpower; then it won't matter what you eat.

Thanks for the props, but willpower implies that it's difficult, and yet I persevere. This for me is not particularly difficult. And I eat chocolate almost every day, cutting or not. I just don't eat very much of it.

I'm lucky in that I love vegetables, but because I cut on a high-fat diet, I get to butter my broccoli and green beans, which helps, believe me.

Healthier anyway.

Thanks for the input everyone. Caretaker you are right, I find myself eating a smaller serving of the broccoli for that reason. It's not that I dislike it, just that it is getting very repetitive. Oh well guess I'll just "man up".

I like the taste of broccoli. Learn to like it my friend. It's not that bad.

A puree of Cauliflower to simulate Mashed Potatoes is a great alternative.

Sometimes a bit of Cheese can help.... no it won't kill your cut.

Also changing up you cooking style. Maybe try sauteing or even on the grill, as it adds different flavour profiles to change things up. Everything doesn't need to be steamed or cooked a certain way. Account for the Calories and enjoy the food you eat.

There is no way I will be a miserable dieter again.

I love eating broccoli because I put butter/peanutbutter on it, and also dip it in fatty dips and cheese spreads.

The only downside is that I think it makes me fart a lot. I don't know what else it could be on my current diet!

I love putting the brocolli on a George Foreman grill. It taste great like that.

Dude, get more creative! One suggestion would be to mix a cup of broccoli in with egg whites or whole eggs depending on the target macros, add a couple of sliced large green olives and 3 or 4 grape tomatoes, add ground black pepper while scrambling... The taste is awesome.

Another would be add broccoli and cauliflower to a spinach salad (Dole baby spinach rocks), again depending on your macros, high fat/low carb salad dressing (low carb diet) or low fat/low carb dressing (zone type diet).

On the same note, use a conforming salad dressing to dip the broccoli and cauliflower in. You don't need to man up, you need to improve your cooking skills and creativity.

Well, growing a pair of balls and manning up is a good thing. But better used when fighting wars and fathering children, lol.

My passion is chard and greens.

You can do wonders with cabbage and fennel seed, as the bloating will be then reduced. My German friends told me that secret.
Another issue is the use of great vegetables in a low fat soup base. Heck, with herbs and tomatoes you'll be picking up dinner or lunch company. You'll get all so much good taste, warmth and low fat.

I think you'll find more and more suggestions:hiya: I'll look through my other forum, that I wrote for with recipes,, and see what I can bring to you.

Good tips! This sounds very doable, even for a culinary challenged individual such as myself. Thanks.
By the way, I'm still eating it "Manly style".

Okay, I'm waiting to read those recipes...

"In a bowl, or other suchlike vessel, enter into it the whites of various eggs, which have been cracked and emptied of their contents but withholding of their yellows..."
