Side effects of too much cardio?

I was woundering if doing say 2xCardio 5 days a week is bad and would cause overtraining?

Or would it be better and your cardiovascular system improve in a sorter time?

I would be Mon,Tues Wed-rest and thurs,Fri,Sat
 
twice a day?

intensity?

volume?

other training?

Say 3 days HIIT Sprints then in evening say 10-20mins of lite skipping and the other two days 20-30 min jog then 10-20mins of lite skipping?

Two questions. Are you eating enough calories for all this? And are you losing lean body mass? If the answer to both questions is yes, then you are definitely doing some damage.

I have to admit, I am quite curious why you're doing this much cardio. Are you training for a race? Dropping fat?

I've heard of people doing steady state cardio like 10x a week to get past a plateau when on a cut and that can actually work. That's a temporary thing though and I'd look at other things before resorting to that. If you always do that much cardio then what happens when you hit a plateau? You can't really increase cardio to get past it since you are already doing the max.
