Almost every where i see it (tv, movies, internet sites) people do side lateral raises while swinging. Is this how ur supposed to do it??

no

what the hell TV station do you watch that they have lateral raises being performed on? More importantly lateral raises with poor form?

Hey guys, I just watched American History X. And I wanna be "hyoooge" like Norton, so I have devised this workout program based on the movie:

day a:
bench press
bb curls
bent over db row

day b:

bent over db row

day c:
bench press
bb curls
bent over db row

look good??????

I've never heard of anyone coming up with a training program based on a movie. That's definately a unique way of doing it...

BTW...This was a JOKE workout...right? (if not...say yes anyway)
You are gonna hit the 'show' muscles 3X per week...
super.
What you do't have is a:
Shoulder workout
Leg workout
Triceps workout
= ridiculous workout = WAY off balance proportions...

Hey, Tom and Jerry run around alot in their shows...maybe you can make a good cardio workout based on that...
:rocker:

Hmmm, well it is an improvement compared to the routine I got from American Psycho, right? http://www.ironmagazineforums.com/showthread.php?t=63726

I'd rather look like Norton in AHX than Bale in AS, so I figured, hey, I will just copy the exercises he is shown doing in the movie and my physique will mirror his in no time!

edit:
"What you do't have is a:
Shoulder workout
Leg workout
Triceps workout"

Fine I will add side lateral raises to the list. Anterior deltoids and triceps will get hit on the bench press (rear delts don't count since I can't see em in my mirror), and as for legs, well, they will catch up with my ridiculously enormous upper body in the end.

...in all seriousness, you can stay in the Training thread here, read the stickys, ask questions and learn and do real workouts.
bits-n-pieces you pull off a movie? not gonna cut it.

wrong.
Squaggle gave excellant responses to your questions. Did u not read them?
have u read the sticky's? (at the top of the training section)
Read them. Several times.
It's great to have enthusiasm...now you need to arm yourself with the knowledge to reach your goal.

My friend recommended Pumping Iron maybe I can design a super training routine from watching that. I better be careful though, I don't want to look like Arny too fast!

you could watch Conan the Barbarian...build that revolving thing in your back yard, and walk in circles for months on end and get huge that way...afterall...Conan RULED his kingdom...and it all started on that device! Now get busy!

It's horrible. Why are you wasting time doing DB rows?

exactly..he should throw in another benching exercise...he wants to be HUGE!

workout:

pullups
clapping pushups
barbell curls
holding hand next to a candle to increase pain threshold
