I was wondering what the benefits are to something like single arm cable rows as opposed to double arm cable rows. Another example is single arm lat pull downs vs. double arm lat pull downs. Personally I like to do both single arm rows (and T-bar rows for more a explosive movement) and I also like single arm lat pull downs (and then weighted pull ups for using both arms at the same time).

Basically I am wondering what the difference is between them. For myself I feel like when I do single arm movements I can focus on control and the overall exercise feels better to me.

i would think with single arm movements (unilateral movement) you don't have to worry about one side working harder than the other so things end up being more balanced and requires you to use more coordination... with double arm movements (bilateral movements) you can obviously increase the amount of weight if you want to go super heavy... i like to incorporate both into my training... the left side of my body has always been weaker than my right side so doing unilateral work allows me to focus on building more strength and coordination with my left side... this applies to legs as well...
