Being a college student, i am often up very late most nights whether it is because of school work, studying for a test, socializing, meetings/events and so forth.
My first meal is typically scheduled for 9:30am which means i try my best to go to bed around 11:00pm. However, it's very tough to be consistent and i am often going to bed around 2-3am instead. Because of this, i usually debate between two options.
a) Get at least 8-9 hours of sleep but skip the first meal. My second meal is at 12:00pm so i would only be getting 5 meals in me but i hate missing breakfast
OR
b) Get 4-5 hours of sleep and eat my first meal and go about doing the usual everyday routine
More often than not, i do option A but sometimes i do option B but i would think that sleep is more important than just missing one full meal.
Note: I am not obsessive or paranoid over this ... i am just curious what is more beneficial since i have been doing this for a while and it is hard to be 100% consistent day in and day out
