hm. I do split with my sleeping.. two to three hours in the am. wake let the dog out eat something clean and anything else I need to get done then back down for a nap before work for two -three hours depending on time I have left..then its a fullnights work .. which varies from eight hours to 12 hours..then back to the 'napping' routine which is usually six days a week with my one night off crashing early and waking early the next day and living ' normal' for the day ..then back to 'vampire' mode for the week
You need steady sleep(lasting 1-2 hours) to reach REM stage of sleep(dreaming deep sleep) There are usually several cycles of REM. In studies done if patients were woken up as soon as they reached this stage of sleep they became very irritable and tired. Performance and intelligence droped by 5-15% in subjects after a few days of this. Lol i hope i remembered that right from psychology.
