Yeah. I felt a pop in my lower back on my 4th set, 3rd rep of 205lbs. Form was as good as it gets, since I was watching in the angled mirrors.

Needless to say, this scared the SHIT out of me. Only, that "pop" didnt hurt and if anything, made my back feel less sore.

I never feel a pinch, but more like a sore muscular pain. In any case, after sumos I went to the leg press..

Here I noticed I couldnt fully extend my legs at the end of each rep. (I knwo youre not supposed to, but this wasnt even an option). My hams were extremely tight! And at the opposite end of the pillar, when my legs were flexed, my lower back felt so sore at the first few reps, then went away.

Does ANY of this shit sound familiar to you guys?

Id like to go to a doctor, but I have no money for it and what are they gonna say anyway? "Stop lifting." Sure that would be ok, but theyd prolly want me to stop permanetly.

God dammit, I used to rock at this shit.

In any case, I static stretched the shit out of my multifidi, hams, erector spinae, and quads afterwards. I actively stretched them before workout.

A little tip. NEVER turn your head to the side to look in the mirror, especially while deadlifting.

yup... thats a shitload of torque on a already compressed spine

No no, these mirrors are angled. Meaning all I have to do is turn my eyes to see my form, not my head.

Be careful. That might lead to inadvertant turning of the head. Kind of like how you should look up/forward when squatting or deadlifting as your back will naturally tend to go into a better position if your head leads that way.

try getting a faom roller and working on your soft tissue.

lay off the lower body work for a week.

I would watch anything that loads your trunk heavily too, like standing overhead presses.

Ok Sports Authority, Foot Locker, and Champs doesnt have a foam roller (they were on my way to work). Does ironmagazine sell any? Might as well support the site while I have the NEED to shop.
