Soreness

After bench pressing, dumbell press, or any other type of chest workout. I get soreness in the joint connecting the pec to the delts. I have rounded shoulders do to bad posture :finger:. So I don't know if this is the cause of that. Is this a normal place to get sore. I've been lifting since high school, but as time as gone on lol Ive started to listen to my body more due to the fact that I don't heal as fast. Any help would be appreciated.
 
How long have you been trianing for? Have you taken a layoff? It's common to get some soreness there, especially if your new or have taken a layoff. If your consistently getting sore there from chest movements, well I'd take a look at your form...are you also getting sore pecs as well?
 
See a doc. I've injured my rotator cuff benching. I described it to my doc the way you just did almost word for word. At the time I didn't even know what a rotator cuff was. That's all I've got for you. Let the doc give you the rest of the info, IMHO.
 
It's your rotator cuff, make sure you work that back and rear delt hard as well, barbell row, seated cable row, face-pull, bend-over laterals.
 
Chest Movements

You want to keep the stress mainly on your chest only when doing pressing movements. It is of course impossible to not involve your front delts and tris.

With the way you describe your body structure it will be challenging, but in general try to keep your shoulders back when training chest. Act as if you want to stick your chest out in front of you.

Not trying in any way to sell an ad... but if you watch Bob C. on bodybuilding.com in "War for the Worlds" train chest he really does a great job explaining and showing it. The more muscle fibers you recruit in the chest area and the less in the front delt area the better.

You can also watch me perform various exercises on you tube on teh video link in my website. The videos are boring as hell, but they might help point you in the right direction. Monitors by all means you can delete this if this seems as if I am trying to advertise, this is just a case where it might help....

I 100% agree with the other fellas in that you might want to see a doc if you have serious pain and hit that back and rear delt training hard. Also stretching helps as do another few exercises to strengthen the rotator cuff....
