So I've split the two before but only for a short period of time. Just wondering what everyone's thought were on splitting them. I have a herniated disc that causes bad sciatica when it decides to act stupid. My thoughts are maybe splitting the two will lighten the load on my back. Thoughts?

I have a herniated disc as well, actually sounds like a very similar injury to yours.
I have split hams and quads for a good 2 years now, almost three.
I like it because I feel like I can get more quality with that muscle group instead of being burnt out before my second half of leg day.

Have you seen an improvement in your hams since splitting them up? My hams are definitely lagging and I need to do something different. Was thinking about pairing them up with shoulders instead of quads.

YES! That's the WHOLE reason why I spit them in the first place. Just do it man, you wont regret it. My split is:
Quads
chest/tris
back/bis
shoulders
hams/calves

I did randomly throw calves in there for a while because they are so stubborn for me. For a while they weren't growing

I do hams and calves on there own day and it's nice because you can really focus on them

I just started this about a month ago. Loving it
