I don't have a problem keeping upright when doing full squats...
but I see some people doing squats and it looks more like a good morning workout.

What tricks do you guys use to keep upright I myself try to look straight ahead.

I look up. My core is fine, If I can't squat something it's because of my weak legs.

squats are for sissy's

When you do squats, make sure you position the bar comfortably enough on your traps. Stand erect and focus on going down and up using your legs and heels only. Control your motion, dont drop down too quickly because it may cause you to lose balance. Start off with light weight first and work your way up. Trying doing front squats the BB way to practice. I find it easier to maintain balance when doing front squats because you can go down deeper but it puts a lot of pressure on your delts when going heavy. Basically core strength or leg strength could be the weakness for you.

Also, try working with light weight and varying the tempos. For example, you could do a 1-6-1 tempo which you will pause for a 6 second count in the hole and work on driving up to break the plateau. I had that problem for a while and im working on it but its getting better.

I do them with my hands touching the bar just so I save it if I need to.

Do you really do them with your hands out or are you just joking? I mean there is no problem with it as long your gym doesn't care if you drop that much weight on a rack if your shoulders give out.

Look in my journal #33

And I wouldn't attempt a lift like that without complete confidence
or the drive to gut it up, no matter what

Oh, I just do everything to failure of good form. I would be dropping it everytime since my upper body is my weak link in front squats.

How much of a forward lean are we talking hear? It is my opinion that you can lean forward quite a bit without it being an issue, as long as you keep a neutral spine and don't round your back.

Have you seen some powerlifters squat? They lean forward a Hell of a lot.

Problem was (for me) I always used to do my back squats like that...

Now that I am having to do olympic squats I have to convert all that
old muscle to lift in a new way -

I know what you mean, but I still get a little lean in my olympic squats as I hit failure. Not quite to the extent that I did when hitting back squats, but still pretty significant.

people squat different ways. People with short torsos will always have some sort of forward lean if they are trying to get their hips below parallel.
