i play football and i once heard that doing squats very low (thigh parallel to floor or knee at 90 degree angle) helps you with your speed and is more practical for football than using more weight and not going as low. Is this true? Would it be better to go even lower than having your knee at a 90 degree angle?

You shouldn't ever be squatting higher than parallel.

The only reason would be because of injury. I once sprained my knee and the doctor told me, if I insisted on continuing to squat, to do partial squats for a couple of weeks until the knee was better.

I was generalizing with my statement to get the point across that a real squat should be deep. I know that half squats have their place and whatnot CD, good lookin. By the way I love the name, captain Deadlift. :thumb: What type of numbers have you put up in the dead?
