Squats - Best for growth

Squats are the best exercise to build overall strength and size. There isn???t a better exercise out there that will stimulate the amount of muscle mass as the squat will. By performing this monstrous exercise you???ll stimulate your body to produce large amounts of testosterone and growth hormone, two hormones that will illicit a large increase in lean body mass. Almost all major bodybuilders that compete today use the squat to help them gain size and strength.

When squatting, gains are not isolated to the legs alone. The muscular weight produced by the squat is added all over the body including the back, chest, shoulders etc. This is largely due to the increase in anabolic hormone secretion that it evokes. One study showed that an individual who performed the squat alone gained 20 lbs in one year. The interesting fact about this study is that the individual added mass all over his entire body. His arms had increased over an inch. If you haven???t been squatting on a regular basis and find that your gains have been mediocre at best, you may find that once you start a whole new surge of muscle growth will take place.

I agree. I think squats provide a great overall w/o and they are my favorite excersise. I would also say deadlifts really help to increase overall mass and thicken you up.

I also agree, BUT I like deads better and believe they are almost if not as good as squats for overall body development.

I agree squats are great for good overall muscle growth besides being a wonderful mass builder for legs and plus if your upper body's huge and you got chicken legs it looks really lame.
 
I believed the same thing except the amount of hormones released wont last for very long. They need to last for long enough time so that growth can take place.
 
I puked for the 3rd time in my life today doing squats!!! First I did high weight 5 rep back squats then did high rep front box squats (8in high butt rest). I didn't care I puked. I made it outside and it's raining so heavy it washed away real good.

It does last long enough for your entire body to grow. They is why doing deadlifts and squats causes your entire body to grow.

A talk a lot more light hearted shit, a little more heavy hearted shit, but other than that I haven't changed much....I don't think. I am bulking so maybe my test levels are through the roof...???
 
The closest I've came to puking during a "workout" was when my other three room-mates and I stayed up til like 4am talking shit about everything, knowing I had session 1 of a two a day practice at 5am.

And it only took once to learn you didnt brush your teeth with toothpaste before hand.
 
Never puked working out, and don't buy the logic of joining the club but hey whatever gets you geeked.

thats because he drinks alcohol as a pre-workout drink. Wish I had time to find his exact quote but yea.
 
I've puked during a workout. But that is because I took 3 horse pills that put some chemical in your bloodstream and open up your veins.

Well youre lucky thats all that happened then! I don't like pills because I can't taper them off. Like stimulants....If I feel it kicking in too much hell I might just be getting started and I'll have the jitters or a racey heart later after it reaches its full potential. I prefer liquid that way if it starts getting on me I can just cap it.
