What are your opinions of the information supplied by the government in regards to steroid use? Is it propaganda or does the government have a valid point?
As I've read the information on these two sites, I can't help but question how it relates to my life:

http://www.steroidabuse.gov/

http://www.justice.gov/dea/concern/steroids.html

I sometimes wonder whether I cross the line into the abuse category or whether I use them responsibly. I tend to believe that I use them responsibly.
With the demonization of steroids, is there any hope that steroids can one day be more accepted? I'm currently on a search for information that would go against the government's current stance on steroid use. Is the use of steroids in pro sports one of the main contributing factors for the government's stance? What steps can we take to make steroids more accepted? All opinions and ideas are welcome..... feel free to share your own stories.

I cannot believe you're even asking this...

It's a valid question, some members believe they abuse steroids or have in the past and others believe they handle it responsibly. As far as whether it will some day be more accepted, that is possible. Watch some of the first propaganda videos in regards to marijuana and see how the perspective has changed. Even though the Federal Government believes there is no medical use for marijuana, it is now legal in some states.

i think there are some .. i have seen some post the amount of gear they use and really do they need it all or tht much..? i know some do diffirent things thn others but when u got 4 or 5 or even more in a cycle tht could be too much i guess it depends im still learning thou

I think the army should have access to steroids :)

Whether it's in a combat zone or an area that has a stabilization force, many members are geared up. Especially the contractors. One of the last contracts I was on, I worked with a group of ten Intel officers and we were all geared to the teeth. Job performance increases and you have an incredible edge compared to those that didn't gear up. Your body doesn't break down as easily under harsh conditions, endurance increases, and you have a heightened desire to kill. The DOD is aware of the use but they turn a blind eye.

This is my personal opinion, as well as others in the comunity, but I believe this to be the biggest truth. The same government that is telling you that you abuse steroids, is the same government that ignored the testimonies of the FDA, DEA, and AMA who ALL testified that steroids shouldn't be treated like other recreational and controlled drugs. They ignored them, then the Anabolic Steroid Control Act of 1990 was passed.

If you watch the proceedings of that session, you'll notice that the biggest issue the government and other people like Carl Lewis had wasn't the fact that steroids were bad for you, but GOOD for you. Which made them "unfair" and "cheating" even though 90% of athletes were using them and still use them today. Carl lewis testified that Ben Johnson wouldn't have been where he was if it wasn't for steroids which is complete bullshit of course, and the politicians bought it.:jerkit:

Even in the MLB Steroid hearings in the recent years, 2004,2005, and 2007, you get the same vibe. It's cheating, even though every one does it.:hmmm:

William Llewellyn has a good argument for this in Bigger Stronger Faster.

What's funny is that Carl Lewis popped positive for banned substances, but he claimed he had no idea that he was taking them due to the fact that they were in "cold medicine and herbal products." I don't buy that. :jerkit:

Inorite? More butt-hurt than anything.

FYI.. I responsibly abuse them if anyone gives a shit

I believe there is hope here as well. As all of us know the reason steroids are demonized is because of ignorance. People don't know, and people fear what they don't know or understand.

A few things need to happen in my opinion.

1.) If people could open their minds and be educated on proper application of anabolics. Dispel the myths.

2.)Steroids would need to be taxed (not necessarily federally) and regulated by the states. Take the FEDs out of the picture and let the states and people decide after being educated.

3.) There needs to be an organized movement by community members and medical professionals to support it with clinical studies and research. If no one says anything and speaks out, nothing will get done.

The biggest thing in my opinion is my first point. Educating the public would lay the foundation necessary to build this movement on.

THERE IS HOPE, and here is proof!

Dr. Gary Wadler is the spearhead in the anti-steroid movement and bias. Watch that debate. Toward the end of the debate, after Dave counters his arguments, he seems to begin to open his mind. This is Gary Wadler we're talking about here! The PRIMARY ADVISER TO CONGRESS IN REGARDS TO STEROIDS. Anyone who knows this guy, and knows his work knows he his an uber-douchebag. If Gary can change his mind... This gives me hope...:daydream:

Dave Palumbo VS Dr. Gary Wadler

Wow, great post GWT. Plenty of great points in that debate. It's amazing that I can undergo numerous cosmetic surgeries, have implants, substances injected in my body, fat sucked out of my body, in an effort to achieve my ideal figure. And in an attempt obtain my ideal figure, I can put my life and health on the line in doing so. Not to mention after a painful procedure I can run the risk of becoming dependant or addicted to pain medication. But if I want to inject steroids in my body to help me recover from hard work in the gym, I'm a criminal. The health risks of cosmetic surgery are extremely higher and can not even be compared to the health risks of anabolic steroids. Steroids should be regulated in a similar fashion as an elective surgery. If I want to change the physique of my body, I should not be portrayed as a criminal.
If a women wants to alter her future life, she can either take a pill or have a vacuum suck the life out of her unborn child. But if you want bigger arms….. No steroids for you! As you said GWT, IGNORANCE, people need to get the facts straight. People who want to use steroids, will obviously find a way. If we could use steroids under a physicians care (other than TRT but for body enhancement) our side effects and PCT could be handled in the best way possible.
