Alright here we go-

I am 200 pds right now looking to get to about 208-210. My body type is pretty lean--right now I am more "jailhouse big" than muscle cut. My food intake without being specific is on point. Chicken, fish, the whole nine. Not on a strict diet but I am constantly eating even if it means granola oat bars on the hour. I am working out 4 days a week for about 1 hr to 1.5. (hard and as heavy as I can go). Currently trying to bulk up a little before I tighten everything up to the max. I am doing the fish oil daily, working out using the "Xtend" (great by the way!!) shaker pre and post workout for aminos and recovery. I cycled creatin for a while and did see some gains but I didn't want a whole bunch of water where you could poke me w a pin and deflate me. I used whey for a good while and did not see much of a gain with it......I was thinking about a Cytogainer or something of the sort, or some sort of Protein to add calorie intake- What would you suggest is one of the best out there as far as bet bang for my buck and how often should I be taking it? I know there is a long list but what is the "latest and greatest"?

What do you need help gaining right now, weight? Is that it?

Your food intake isn't going to be on point until you know precisely how many calories you are taking in. You can track it with FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal . In short, once you know what your maintenance is, you can increase your calories by 500/day and you'll see an increase of about 1 pound/week. Here's some information from one of our moderators, Built, on organizing your diet. Got Built? » How to set up a diet - basic carb cycling

Shakes and all that are just easy calories to get in, they aren't going to arbitrarily make you big.

Correct- I am just looking for an effective protein shake/mix to aid my workout. I appreciate the fitday info, I am adding healthy calories to my eating. Like I said- I was just looking for a couple recommendations as far as brands. I know there has to be some more "effective ones" or else people would settle for the 15$ bucket at wal mart everytime. I have heard of a couple........Cytogainer-Nos-Mass xxx, etc. Or maybe if I ran some muscle milk it would help in putting on a little extra and add protein. What I do understand and get.......is that I can only get as big as the effort I put in hitting the steel.

bosshogg, easy calories: olive oil shot in one of your shakes.

I just drink my flax oil or my Udos from the bottle instead of having it mess up my shakes. Once you get use to it you should be good I chew fish oil caps for fun but I'm weird :nerd:

There's that, too yes. :)

You can also get flavoured fish oil liquid.

I'm not in love with flax oil. I take a LOT of fish oil though!

Oh, right on. Thanks nni!

Beautiful!! I will take advice to heart. As far as the fish oil goes how many capsules would you say are good per day?

10g of most commercial fish oil brands will provide 3g combined EPA/DHA, which the AHA says is safe to take without a doctor's supervision.

So that's what I recommend (and take!)

You will have to forgive my "stupidity" for a sec-------- I managed to rip the label off my fish oil pills (walmart omega 3 soft gels) How many would you say would you say would amount to 10g if you had to guest-a-mate?

The flax won't convert, right?

There's that, too yes. :)

It will - mediated by the enzyme delta 6 desaturase - but not well.

:)

What method - extra calories in order to gain weight?

Olive oil is good for you. You are having a hard time gaining, right? There's some healthy calories for you, and they're easy to get in.
