Can water cause anxiety attacks? I know it sounds dumb, but recently, I have cut down on smoking, and stepped up my water in-take, to start cleaning out my body. Well, yesterday, I drank 4-5 glasses of water, in about 1 1/2 hour period, and I started to feel, Like kidda dizzy and my heart started to speed up, with an bad butter-fly feeling in my stomach. But it only seems to happen when i drink alot of water.

Any thoughts. or is it just the rush of O2

I mean, I feel funky.

i have done that,,,it was the water for me. i drank really cold water when it happened to me.

Never heard of such a thing.

smoking withdrawl. It can cause dizzyness and an increased heart rate among other issues. The water should have nothing to do with it.

I would say smoking withdrawl.. Although there was a story of a young girl(4 yrs old) who actually died from drinking too much water.
ABC News website said:
The excess water lowered the concentration of sodium in the child's blood, triggered brain swelling and caused her death, according to prosecutors
ABC no longer holds that report do to it being really old, lol; Thats cached from Yahoo search engine; Heres a link for more info if anyone wants to read.

I dont think an adult could die from such a thing.. but I would say its possible that it could have side effects.

Nopity, I don't want to get off track, but I don't think any question is "stupied," and by the title of the thread, I had no idea what the topic was.

(Not trying to be pedantic, though.)

Good luck on your quest to quite smoking.

Thanks Mr_Snafu, man, it's tough, down to 6 a day. Almost there. Gettin ready to get the workout involved.

I learned not to drink alot of water before i go to bed, seems to stop the episodes. But it kind of scary. I would feel a hard thud in my chest, but now its not that bad. Was thinking the water was doing this.

Here is some great information on Water from Jodi.

Well, it happened again today, and I called my DOC and he told me too go too the E.R., EKG and every thing, nothing found.. He thinks it may be axiety and MADE me quit smokeing and drinking coffee. They said my heart rate fluxuates very fast, but not dangerously high. Blood pressure fine, blood fine, protein fine, he said just to much coffee, and lake of sleep. :hot:

AND, ive been up for a long time, and still have to go to work, LIKE 30hrs

Nicotine withdrawl can cause some annoying symotoms. Now that you dont have smoking to calm you, you should drink some chamomile tea whenever you have time to relax(usually before bed). Chamomile is a muscle relaxant and can relieve stress and anxiety
