I'm currently cutting weight and at a somewhat substantial caloric deficit. Mon-Fri I'm G2G. But on weekends, I play a lot of softball tournys. So, i may play 4, 5 or more games on a saturday. My questions are...

1) What are some whole food sources do you recommend for thru out the day to keep calories in check yet keep my energy level up?

2) Should I still keep higher glycemic carbs low/none or is it okay, since I'm going at it all day?

Thanks for the input...

Load up on oatmeal in the morning? When I play ball I find that drinking these works wonders.

Yeah, you're gonna have to eat your carbohydrates during the day if you're gonna run around that much.

Monster? ugh.

Remember nothing gives you energy. It just might cause your endocrine system to malfunction and release adrenaline and a few other things that the rest of your body isn't ready to deal with. There is a toll to pay, now or later.

4 or 5 softball games in one day? The day before i would load up on everything decent that I could. Then eat good that morning. "keeping calories in check" ...does this mean getting in enough calories, or are you exhibiting some complex about calories, that you might need to run a deficit while doing this much work??? i wouldn't advise it for optimal performance, or for "burning fat".
