Could any of you give me ideas on your favorite sweet snacks/meals that won't destroy a diet. Include protein bars and recipes. A certain brand cereal with skim milk?

Because you aren't getting much of a response, I'll chime in with my two cents...

I think just indulging once or week or whatever on an occasion is a reasonable idea. Perhaps you want to take your spouse out or something along those lines. It isn't going to have a big impact on your goals as long as you don't make it a habit to have something sweet after every meal. Sweets are still just calories.

If you feel like you need to something sweet everyday, then you'll have to get a bit more creative (or get over it). You can find flavored coffees (french vanilla etc) that don't have any calories and are pretty good. Tea is good too. Berries are a good idea as a carb source --- plenty of fiber in raspberries and blackberries.

chop a couple bananas and freeze then. then when you want a treat put some in a blender with a tablespoon or two of cocoa powder. nothing else. tastes like chocolate ice cream.

or one of these in your water.

Alright, I just try to figure out what I can do when I get sweet cravings.
Although I was looking for an ancient chinese dieting recipes from the land before time, these will do :pissed:

If you're planning on losing BF, then you should dismiss any sweet thoughts from your noggin. With the exception of maybe one, most protein bars will only get you into trouble. Cereal with skim milk? Nah.

Sugar free jello....that's all I have.

I like that. Ima drop the entire idea of protein bars and sweets. How about my whey protein shakes I have daily. They are 2 25g scoops of whey and 1 cup of skim milk. About 280 Cals and 45 grams of protein.
Or should I mix them with water?

try the tea seriously. it's really sweet.

Premium. This unique nectar-like tea is one of our most popular blends. Licorice, a root 50 times sweeter than sugar cane, has been combined with cinnamon, orange peel, star anise, and sarsaparilla for this delicious herbal tea. The naturally sweet dessert-like qualities of Licorice Spice make it a perfect after dinner tea. 100% Natural ingredients. Herbal teas contain no true tea leaves, but are created from an international collection of herbs and spices such as Moroccan rosebuds, Oregon mint, tropical hibiscus, cinnamon from Indonesia, and more. These all natural botanical ingredients are combined to create exciting flavors and aromas.

I'm going to, thanks for your suggestion.

When I was taken Epi I would mix 1 of my gf Rich chocolate slim fast add 2 scoops whey AI cycle support and some pnut butter and oats. MMHhmmmHMm... Talking about delich!

Sounds about right. It's all relative to the rest of your day. Some days you might have the calories available to go with milk, some days it may be prudent to use water.

I always use water because I prefer to get my carbs from solid food sources, I like carbs and feel like it's a waste to use them on milk in a protein shake. Some find water-based protein shakes unpalatable. To each his own.

So you think I should be eating 40g protein, 40g carbs, 20g fats...

I'm not following your question.

Those macros work out to 500 calories. That is insufficient over the course of a day, but I don't think that's what you're referring to. If you are referring to that intake per shake, then I cannot comment on it. Per usual, it depends on the rest of your day.

I probably didn't answer your question, so please clarify if that is the case.

That's good enough bud, I was looking it up on the net and figured out what I was wanting to know.

I know these aren't considered sweets, but when I am "snacky" like that I will cook up some cabbage or eat some raw mushrooms!

Like said above though, I will sometimes use sugar free jello/pudding.

Replace [g] with [%]...or use the good old 40/40/20 approach. This way, you won't confuse the natives. ;)

Actually, using grams over percentages is more versatile --- especially with those with large intakes.

For example, if one was bulking with 5000 calories, recommending that one takes in 40% of their calories from protein (500g) is a bit much. Rather, suggesting 1g/lb lbm (220g protein for someone with 220lb lbm) is a bit more reasonable.

40g 40g 20g? That sounds more like what you've been livin on, Mayor. :D

No shit.:spaz:

Obviously, grams are the way to go. But I believe Caesar, or zur, gave us this....

Sorry for the confusion and mistype. I meant to imply my daily caloric intake to 40% protein, 40% carbs, and 20% fats.. :sorry:
