Swimming to Cut?

Swimming is a great form of nonimpact aerobics basically - I used to swim 30 laps every day to deal w/ stress from my classes in college - definitely helped me cut. To me it felt like a great type of steadystate cardio, with the addition of some resistance while doing it.
 
I have always enjoyed swimming, and I think it is a great way to exercise. No pain to the joints, and very relaxing.
 
I get it in once a week. Going to try to up it to twice. Great shoulder workout and a method of burning calories.
