Taking a break

I was just wondering how often people here take a week off from lifting? I have heard people say take a week of every 8-10 weeks. Others have said longer. I havn't taken a break in over 12 weeks but their has been a couple weeks were i missed a few days so my body was able to rest some. But i was just wondering when others take breaks.
 
I take a week off about every 4 months. I will miss a couple of days in between these 4 months though. The thing is, I feel guilty as hell not to work out for an entire week. I have to really fight myself not to pickup a weight..
 
I just let my body tell me when its time for a break, alot of the time I have to take a couple days here or there because I'm out of town or something.
Basicly I don't set a time for a break, just take it when needed.
 
For me I take a week off every 10 to 12 weeks. By the middle of the off week though I find myself wishing the week was over.
 
I just wait for all hell to break loose at work. A break gets forced on me then. Seems to be every 4-6 months.
 
Whenever your body needs it.

Some people can train for longer periods without rest, others can't.

The general rule is every 10-16 weeks you'll need a break. The signs of overtraining are a good indicator as to when you need a break.

Also, if you start plateauing then that could be another reason to take a break.
