elway was the best hands down. more wins than anybody with less to work with. he took 3 teams to the superbowl on his shoulders that had no buisness even being there to begin with. as well as the 1987 mvp award. it wasnt till shanahan got there that he played with a great line and running back. up untill the end of his carreer can you name any of his recievers or Rb's? look at all of his recievers through the 80's and early 90's. he elevated all of there stats. Jerry Rice was best with steve young, not montana. that should say something. remember how marino had both marks to work with? clayton and duper? what was it 48 come from behind wins? of a total of 200 wins or so? fully 25 percent of john elways victories came when he was loosing the game in the 4th quarter. and come on is anything greater than "the drive"? the person who should be mentioned in the same sentence with john elway has to be brett favre.
