The Most Under- & Over-Rated Exercises?

So you guys arent saying that working the chest is overrated are you? You are just saying that just doing FLAT bench is overrated when in perspective of all the things that you can do for the chest? Inclines, declines, flys, etc.

That's what I gathered. The flat bench press really is overrated. It's not that it has no benefit. It's just that many people believe that it's the only true exercise for the chest. Just try to convince them that the triceps play a major role in that exercise.

overated-barbell curls
underated-dumbell pullovers

No...When they are saying, say bench, is overrated

they are not saying its just an okay chest movement

They are saying that it's the only thing most people do

Some idiots swear by it and will only do it, nothing else, thats all

Overrated: Military dumbell press
Underrated: Pull-ups

I agree with you on that, they are never done and to me very effective.
I dont even do regular tri extensions anymore unless i superset into close grip. Reverse work all three heads.

over-rated: bicep curls (those who use a lot of weight with bad form)
under-rated: dead lifts

Most Overrated - Leg Press/Extension
Most Underrated - Power Clean

I seriously thought that everyone did Bentover Rows. That was second exercise my dad taught me. The first was how to squat. Dante, I second that Rear DB raises are killer and have humbled many guys in the gym.

i love supersetting seated bent db raises with standing 2 arm rear delt reverse cable crossover..sounds kind of crazy but but it seems to really target rear delts.

I think people give cable crossovers a bad rap. Of course they don't build mass, but, they are the perfect second half of a superset. I love to dumbell bench and then do standing cable flys, it feels as if my chest is on fire!
