Right now, my 1:00 pm meal consists of:

One slice of multi-grain wheat bread
One can of Tuna in spring water....
6-7 slices of cucumber.....
GNC Mega Men vitamin

I know it's not perfect, but it's easy and quick. I eat 6 meals a day including whey shakes w/ flax, and I think they're all pretty balanced but this one meal. Some days I make extra dinner so I can have the same thing for lunch the next day....but most of the time I'm looking for something very quick, which is why Tuna is eaten right out of the can w/ some mustard.....

Looking for something easy (prepared in just minutes) that covers all my bases for this 1pm meal? Like veggies I can just knosh on in place of the cucumber (which I'm guessing isn't a recommended carb for that meal, or is it?)

Nothing wrong with cucumber.....what about a can of tuna with mustard (if that's how you lke it) with an apple, and your cucmber (which you like). Just add a fat source to the tuna and your set.

How about tuna + mayo and a sweet potato (you can microwave it the night before, and just reheat it during lunch). Or like FF said, tuna + fat source (i like olive oil or mayo in my tuna) and an apple or a few strawberries.

You can even make a bunch of brown rice over the weekend and just take some out every day to take to lunch.

I'm taking roughly a teaspoon of flax seed oil with every meal....is that smart if I'm eating 6 times a day?

So tuna in a can, 1 tsp of flax seed oil, a slice of multi-grain bread, some cucumber slices or an apple is ok.....

Sweet potato is ok...

What else can I sub in for the cucumber? Looking for something I can just grab out of the fridge and chow down on....no cooking if possible....

The cucumber is fine, replace the bread with a slow burner.

Re: the flax. It all depends on how much fat you need for each meal. Is the flax the fat source for all of your meals? Or do you just add on a tbsn no matter what? If its the latter, you're most likely overdoing it on the fat.

leave the cucumber if you want......and have some brown rice instead of the bread.

Or you can have an apple or grapefruit is also good if you don't want the cucumber.

Are there any other "slow burners" that are literally ready to eat? No other easy edibles that function in the same capacity as sweet potatoes and brown rice?

And I thought this 7 grain bread I was eating WAS a slow burning carb?

If I am in a rush or even post w/o I eat oats just raw and uncooked. that is pretty fast. veggies are good though.

So is the the 7 grain bread a "slow burner" though?

So far:

Oatmeal
Sweet Potatoes
Brown rice

Anything else that's easy?

Multi-grain bread is NOT a slow burner.

If bread is a must try pumpernickel or rye bread. Other healthy muchies from the fridge...baby carrots and broccoli if you like it, some cottage cheese (protein and carbs), most berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries). Cherries are also low glycemic. Remember though to have fruit in moderation...a sweet potato is great...as mentioned microwave it before hand and eat it cold...tastes surprisingly GREAT!

Muscle Gelz Transdermals
IronMag Labs Prohormones
so which one is better as a slow burner, 1/4 oatmeal or 1/2 apple? i know they both are, but which one is better recomended?

Both are good...VARIETY...nothing is necessarily 'better'...sorry to be ambiguous but try to eat both....at different times obviously.

Hmmmm ok....

Can of tuna, sweet potato, flax seed oil and an apple could be one meal....

Say I added a small handful of raw oats, a tsp of flax seed oil and some mustard to my tuna and ate that.....would that be good? Add in some cucumber slices OR the apple?

An Apple

Tuna, flax, sweet potato OR apple, and cucumber.

Only 1 slow burner + protein + fat + vegies therefore you'll have to decide on the sweet potato or apple.

Yeah thats what I meant, I quoted the wrong one. Thanks FF! :D
