Hey Ronnie for example comes in every year for contest 8-15lbs heavier every year.

But surely their must be a maximum muscle mass the body can endure!?

Gains get slower and slower as you add more mass becuase you have to already eat a lot to maintain your excisting mass, right?

So Ronnnie eating 10 meals a day would have to increase his food and drug intake all the time. He has to eat what i eat in a week in a day just to MAINTAIN his mass.

So surely they will get to a point were their is no more space or willingness for the body to put more muscle in.

Wanted to see your views on this.

IMO they must be close to that point now. The heart and other organs of the body just can't handle but so much and can't work but so hard. You have already seen some death no doubt contributed to this.

I have a feeling they will push it further than you think. I bet we will see someone at a ripped contest weight of 350 before it's all over.

Yeah but 350lbs contest max i reckon too, a bit in the future.

Soon people will start using that new genetic virul thing which can giv you muscle building genetics or something to that extent. (I believe they inject a virus in to your muscle cells which they have altered to infect people with muscle building properties it contains).

So this year Ronnie will be the first person ever to go 300lbs+ good contest condition?

Gunther can go 300lbs+ contest too but he comes in a bit flat most of the time.

Are you talking gene therapy here?

Yes i think so - I remember seeing it in the news, and reading about it in a few muscle mags.

I don't mean altering a persons genes from the start - this new technology will alter ANYBODIES genes at any time in the future by using the virus.

It will make bodybuilders EXTRA freaky in the future  :D

pro BB's past the maximum growth point in the 1950's
That's when they started using gear...

Now it's just a race to see who can endure pumping the most chemicals

I'm sure DNA tampering will come soon

I've seen myostatin toys on one particular site, very expensive. I dont know if anyone is really playing with the stuff yet because there is virtually no talk of it.

I read that he added 14lbs!

So if so, he would come in at 309lbs

seeing him 15lbs smaller would be odd.

I'm willing to bet that exercise science and knowledge of nutrition has advanced enough that we definitely have marked improvement in all natural lifters now compared to the past.

Not to discredit your statement. Certainly BBing is more about juicing now than ever before.

soon enough some gineau pig will start gentically sculpting their physique by using a paintbrush..I mean syringe to inject stem cells or some type of gene mutating method.

BB is well on its way to being the sport of mutants and I love it...

Odd? The previous year he was much lighter, it wouldn't be that much of a throwback in history.

He is trying to comply with the "new" IFBB judging criteria and plans on coming in lighter than last year, or at least that is the rumor.

I agree Robert and I just read today we he plans at coming in at 285 lbs. If he does I think he wins his eigth title

lol lighter last year...... HE IS HEAVIER, stop being spoon fed by the critics :thumb:

yes 2004 he was the heaviest contest shape in his life.

Last year he came in at 296lbs. I recall him saying he would come in around 300-305 this year(or atleast wanted too). Wonder what he'll do.. Here is my only pic of him from last year.
