Hey swordfish. You have some Biblical knowledge. Did you know that Satan belives there is a God and Jesus was his Son. Satan was Gods worship leader and knows the Bible better than most Christians. He just wanted to run the show himself. We Christians celebrate Christmas because it is the day that has traditionaly been when we rejoice because Jesus was born as a sacrafice to take away our sin. Check out Isaiah chapter 53. It was written hundreds of years before Jesus was born yet it describes him perfectly. I choose to make Jesus my Lord. I bow to his authority and accept his gift of salvation he paid for in blood. I praise his name daily and am not ashamed of it!

I agree with this, me too, to me Christmas is the day to remember the birth of Jesus, end of story. These times we should reflect on our lives, and try to be more forgiving and more loving towards one another

It's all that need be said no religious reasons need to be brought into it, all we need to bring to the table during the holidays is an open heart, beautiful decorations and warmth from within....

Yeah, there is a lot of debate over the truth behind Christmas. But what one person says is not going to change the beliefs of someone else. What every one should really be looking at is the character of Santa Claus... also known as St. Nick. Saint Nicholas was born during the third century. He grew up wealthy, and when his parents died he used his entire inheritance to help the needy, the sick, and the suffering. In a time when the Roman emperor was executing Christians only because of their beliefs, Saint Nicholas risked his life to help anyone and everyone in need, to only eventually be imprisoned while true criminals like rapists and murderers freely roamed the streets. And look at us today.. we get upset and angry if someone doesn't get us a "Christmas" gift. It is a damn shame that the majority of us are so selfish that we only act kind and nice to one another during this holiday, rather than being genuinely caring through out the year... like good ol' St. Nick.
