i'm not in real estate but I'm going through the same kind of thing right now. Staying at my current job until I can make some real money with this other thing I'm working on... eh. I can relate.

Winter/slopes/snowboarding... It's not a bad idea. I just might do that. And you know what? I've been wanting to try snowboarding. I'm not sure I'll be great at it but I'm fearless, and that's gotta count for somethin'! :D Don't be surprised if I say I'm heading out!
so, what do you do now, what are you trying to move into?

Hell yeah! Fearless works! Especially looking down a double black diamond and can't see the bottom....good times!

If I am not working, I'd e hapy to drive the 2 hours North to say howdy!
Maybe Prince and his wife could as well. Be a nice little get together.
There is an awesome drive that starts in the back of hte city of Loveland. It is hwy 134 (I think...I may be wrong. It is called 'Peak to Peak)
It goes thru Estes park and comes out beyond Boulder.
It was a favorite of the sport bike association I used to belong to.
ACTUALLY, i was just looking at my calendar and the weekend i was thinking of going to fort collins is the weekend I'm working at/going to a conference down here!!! So I guess I have to replan that, since I already committed to this thing. :(

Right now, I am a graphic designer. I kinda fell into it after college with the whole dot com thing. Started as a web designer, lived the "fast life" for a few years, went through a bunch of layoffs when everything started imploding, and for the past 3.5 years have been settled into a somewhat secure, non-web-related design job in a stuffy, old-school big company.

What I'm trying to move into, it's kinda hazy but I see something related to this in the future: fitness. The catch is I want to work with children, not adults. Kindof a personal trainer/wellness coach/life coach for kids and their families. Helping families as a whole to adopt a healthier lifestyle, by focusing on the kids. NOt necessarily to make anyone reach 7% bodyfat, just teach people to recognize where they're going wrong, where that will lead and help them learn to make healthier choices to improve their quality of life. It's a pretty elaborate plan. There is a lot I still have to learn, but the motivation and the heart to do this is THERE, so if I go for it, I can do it. I need to learn more about nutrition, and about motivation, and emotional triggers. I need to learn more about children and fitness and family dynamics.

I was going to school before, working on my masters degree in mental health counseling, but decided that wasn't the path I wanted to take, so I stopped before shelling out any more money toward soemthing that wasn't "right".

Anyway, CSU has a masters program in Exercise and Wellness and there is a professor there whose areas of interest are in step with my areas of interest. However, to get into that program i need to retake my GRE, and complete a bunch of prerequisites. That's what I'm working on right now. Prepping for the GRE and looking into schedules for some of the classes I need to have.

There is also a similar masters program at ASU-EAst, but Arizona is my second choice. I love the idea of living in Colorado. I can see myself living there. Arizona... not so sure about that. Especially in Mesa... though I dont' know much about it anyway, so maybe I'm talking crap.

Maybe my whole hurricane-inspired, "i'm moving NOW instead of later" rant was a bit premature. i know the right thing to do is stay here until I have those pieces (GRE/prerequisite courses) in place.

Hey!
Graphic designer! Awesome! I make a really nice stick figure!
:)
That sounds like a nice field to get into. It is sad to see so many kids that are as fat as they are. Of course, being old school...one way to fix that...taking their X-Box controllers out of their cuby hands, walking them outside and have them ACTUALLY play football and such...just like the old days:
"Ok, we'll play in Bobby's yard, 'cause it is the biggest. The mailbox is one goal, and the big tree over there is the other. The sidewalk and the hedges are the out of bounds.."
Sound familiar?
Half-time was lining up and drinking out of the garden hose....

I have to work this weekend anyway!
:)

hell i remember those days. It wasn't football in my case. it was good guys bad guys... i was the only girl in the neighborhood, so i played with my brother and all his friends. Even tried playing basketball and skateboarding and riding my bike with them, but I was always "the girl" and they'd rarely humor me. haha!

And then, we got a nintendo. Nothing was ever the same.

I was expecting the story to go along the lines:
Then I started becoming a woman...and then ALL the boys wanted to hang out with me!

Well, it goes like this: if i want to keep my job (which I don't, but I want to keep my paycheck, and I can't keep the paycheck without the job) then I have to learn to love getting up early because these batches want me at my desk and with a friendly disposition at 730 every morning.

Ohh, sorry then. Didn't mean to call you a "Morning Person." I fully retract the insult. :D

You gonna come.
David's band's gig at the hard rock? the thread is about a purdue cheerleader no?i just read david's comment about hard rock and already had heard the news from the horse's mouth, so i'm gonna guess that's what you're referring to,right???

if so. yes sirree! i'm gonna go. I need details, one of you needs to PM me.

I have lived in Colorado for awhile now and the for the most part the winter's here arent as bad as everyone thinks. 9 outta 10 times it snows in the morning and by the time afternoon comes around everyone is wearing shorts. I live in the boulder area its really nice. There is a city in Colorado called Firestone that is really starting to develop and the houses are much more affordable then living in Boulder,Niwot, Longmont, Loveland and Ft. Collins. and Its a stonethrow from all of them including Denver too.

FIRESTONE. I will check it out. Thanks a bunch! does that area have a website? Like a visitor's center type thing or something where i can request info? I'd never even heard of it.

And as for winters, that's what a friend of mine told me about winters there. He lives in denver. Jackets in the morning, t-shirts in the afternoon. I'm not too worried, honestly. Everyone is trying to put the fear of snow in me. I'm not deterred in the least. :)

Thanks again, Big.

If you have the choice you should stay in the northern colorado area. Ive been to a couple places south and really didnt like them at all
