This world is bullshit

I tend to look down my nose at people who I consider to be consumers, but I also have to play devil's advocate with my own desires. I'm a greedy fucker and a complete hedonist. I find myself wanting more than I ever have before. I want more sex, more music, more gear, more muscles, more food, more drugs, ect.

I am not even going to pretend like I don't. I don't get into the designer cloths, cool cars, and status symbol type shit, but the stuff that I do want is probably just as bad. I I want to be able to eat gourmet food 5 times a day. I want to have dirty sluts on tap. I want kick ass music at my fingertips. I want 10 different drugs of my choosing to get fucked out of my mind on the weekends.

If I could have all of that, I would be happy as a mother fucker till the day I died.

Plus, it is hard to consider advice from a pop star on how important originality is. If she wasn't smoking hot like every other pop star, nobody would have anything to do with her, and the irony is she is bullshit along with the bullshit.

I like some of her music, though. Some of her songs are pretty dark.

The main point is you don't see many artists asking they're fan base to be original and ignore the fantasy world they try to mimic which is the entertainment industry. Its like a glitch from the matrix, I am sure she was not suppose to say what she said, is no good for the entertainment industry. But hey she felt it and it came out regardless of the lame delivery. I also enjoy some of her live performances even though she seems kinda out of it when she performs, like she has lost grasp of reality.

I fit in that same catergory, I don't desire the unnecessary stuff, just the shiite that quenches my thirst, especially women! Everytime I leave the house, I act just like my dog, I get a hard on with every breeze. Even if that breeze is summers eve.

I get that, and I agree. But, it is tough to listen to what she has to say considering she had no ethical problems feeding the marketing machine. She sold her shit on MTV, and after she got rich doing it, she wants to speak out about individuality.

Unfortunatelay getting all the things you wanted won't give you satisfaction. Very soon when you get tired of what you got, you will want something better than what you have and so on. May be it is not getting things you want that will give you satisfaction, but understanding that human desire/greed has no limit, and try to limit it and try to slowly eliminate it completely will give you satisfaction, no?

No, the first step is realizing material things do not make you happy. The second is to realize and come to grips that you can't escape the desire. Most don't make it past the first. I've got a friend who acts like she abhors consumerism. They have at least four sofas and a house filled with TVs.

I don't know. An Ariel Atom 3 would bring an good amount of happiness....

I have also seen many people like her. Infact I was also like hers few years ago but now I am making a little progress, I think. It is very easy to understand by reading books or by listening from others but mentally is very hard to let go of greed.
I don't think it is about escaping the desire. I think it is about understanding that desire/greed can't be satisfied completly and permanently. Once we understand this intellectually and mentally, we won't see any point of trying to feed our desire/greed. If we have less desire/greed, then it is easier to let go of 'Wants' and live with 'Needs', no?

"Money doesn't buy happiness." Uh, do you live in America? 'Cause it buys a WaveRunner. Have you ever seen a sad person on a WaveRunner? Have you? Seriously, have you? Try to frown on a WaveRunner. You can't! They're so awesome, it's just throttle. People smile as they hit the pier. Because you forget, you need gas to turn. It goes against your natural instincts. Some of you aren't laughing; we all miss your cousin, but not laughing's not gonna bring him back. He's dead for a reason. He was a show-off, and he tried to spray us. "I didn't wanna get wet!" I yelled at his mother at the funeral.

my father told me that if you truly deserve to have something (that is not a "need") then you should be able to afford it...if you can't afford it then either work more or get another job to supplement the income until you can.

unfortunately the days of being able to get a 2nd job to supplement the income are gone, never to return...

Fiona Apple should go eat a fucking sandwich and keep her piehole shut.

I have the things I need, plus a few that I want. I'm pretty happy. I'd stay happy if I can keep the things I have. What makes me unhappy are the greedy bags of shit that aren't happy with having a shit ton of everything, they've got to try to take what I have away from me. That's where I've got a problem with society today.

I don't need to keep moving up socially and materially. I just need a few things to survive and be able to take care of a few wants, most of which are taken care of.

I believe the second realization is that you're not actually making progress or rather that there is no progress to make. Desire is human nature, you can't escape it. You won't find satisfaction by denying yourself of it, including material things.

"Do I counsel you to kill your instincts? I counsel you to innocence in your instincts. Do I counsel you to chastity? Chastity is a virtue with some, but with many it is almost a vice. These are abstinent, to be sure: but the Bitch sensuality looks enviously out of all that they do. Even into the heights of their virtue and into their cold spirit does this creature follow them, with its discord." ~ Thus spoke Zarathustra.

Yeah, that whole spiritual understanding of desires and suffering. I understand it, but it isn't compatible for me. I don't have enough spirit to sustain me without the things I want. I have tried, and it just doesn't work for me.

So I will chase temporary satisfaction from one point to the next until I die. To be honest, I am satisfied with that for now. When it stops being enough, I'll eat a bullet.

You can transform your mind through intellectual understanding and mental realization. Don't you think so?

My mind has gone through many levels of intellectual understanding and realization, but not all of them are good. A realization might send me into a blissful manic episode for a week, or it might send me into the pits of hell for a month. I have never lacked introspection, if anything, I am an excessive compulsive about it which is 10 times more unhealthy than no introspection at all.

No matter how out of wack your mind is, it can be transformed. Just have to give more time to understand it and know how it works. Atleast that is how it is working for me. And I hope it works for you too.:D

Fuck all that. You keep believing that if it works for you. I give up on spiritual transcendence. However many years I got left will be spent on family, friends, pussy, and drugs. Those are the only things that consistently prove their value to me. Even training doesn't bring consistent joy. Everything else is completely dependent on your mental state.

Yep. He was able to dissect and see how things fit together in ways I've never heard elsewhere.

Sorry If I offended you. I was just debating. I wasn't trying to turn you into something spiritual or something. All mind is the same. It doesn't have race or religion or any identity.:D

You didn't offend me, and sorry if I came across like you did.
