How long does everyone take to perform one rep. I know it usually depends on the exercise but, generally speaking, how long do you lower the weight vs. how long to push the weight.

Thanks.

Reasoning is I am feeling some pain in my elbows and shoulders at higher weight and am curious if I slow it down and decrease the weight if I would get the same result.

I had the same problem a few years ago. The thing that helped me was to work with lighter weights and full range of movement. You need to realy emphisize the motion though. Sort of like stretching. Good luck!
