For the past 1.5-2weeks I've been having random tingles throughout my scalp/head in different spots. Seems to happen every so often through out the day. It's a real sudden tingle, and then goes away. I'm pretty sure it has to be workout related because I felt it after a heavy chest day, and keeps reoccurring.

I went to neurologist, and he was little to no help...He's sending me for a MRI in a week, to see what it can be. Also he's doing an EEG...

Just curious if anyone knows what it is? I've read online it can be from stress/anxiety...But it wouldn't make much sense since now finals are over, and I'm on summer vacation.

I had a really bad exercise induced headache a few months ago, but I don't know if this is related at all. The tingles are usually on the back of my head, but I feel them all over sometimes.

tightness maybe.

you might just need a good massage (especially around your neck and upper traps).

It's kinda scary...because right away I think of the worst possible things, and google just make its worse...Tumor, anyeruism, etc

Hopefully its nothing bad...Just curious if I was going for a massage, what kind should I get, and where should I get it?

I don't know where you should get it. I don't know where you live.

I just go for a sports/deep tissue massage and the therapist asks you what you really want them to focus on.....if you neck is your problem, tell them about it. they should know what to do.

Well I'm saying do you go to a day spa for that? Or a different type of massage place? Also how do I know if my neck is the issue?

I don't know if your neck is the issue. I am taking a guess. That is what people on internet forums do. How can I be specific if you aren't standing in front of me?

I go to a private massage therapist. You can ttry a spa. it is best to get a referral if you can though. Some places are very Foo-Foo and wont give you what you need.

The reason I guess your neck is just by putting a few things together:

a) you lift weights
b) you are muscular
c) you are a human being so you do everythign anteriorly and you may tend to hold stress in your upper traps
d) you probably don't (or have not in awhile) taken care of your soft tissue via any soft tissue modality (massage, ART, MAT, etc..)
e) since the fascia of the body is connected together, when muscles in the neck are tight, they can end up giving you headaches by affect blood vessels and nerves.

If it was anything serious I'd say the neurologist would have picked up on it straight away.

I hope that your MRI had good results for you... it is scary to not know why things happen... don't get your self all worked up and just wait for the dr. If you are not happy with the respones from that dr. then dr. shop and find a new one.. all the best of luck.
