That is my question.

When totalling wieghts or discussing max bench with other gym rats, do you factor the wieght of the bar into total wieght lifted??

Not a question for myself, I just want to know how others measure the wieght they lift :)

i usually add the bar...just so i can feel better about the amount i can lift. :D

LOL:thumb:

add it

I asked this in my journal at another site and got laughted at. The responce was, "jeeze, that's better, I was begining to think you were a real whoos!". Does that help? LOL! Nah, really. Yes, add the bar.

laughed at for what a perfectly reasonable question..i asked because I don't usually and my gym partener usually does...stupid fuckers for laughun anyways and now u r here so fuq em!!!!! :D

Ya have to add the bar---you lifted it didn't ya.
When using leg press & hack squat machines it's really hard to know the rack weight in different gyms so I ususally add 100-125lbs. depending on the size of the rack of the machine used.

Damn rights add the bar, geeze  that's like another plate. Some people:no:

Definately, I always count the bar. On things like leg press, either they will list an oddball number or nothing at all, so I dont count that.

For the most part I count weights so I know how much I'm doing one week versus another, so on a smith for instance I likewise dont count, even though many smith machines are assisted in a small amount, 20 pounds or so.

Yup, i'd add the bar, now what about the smith machine????

I add that bar to but only 25lb cause thats whats stamped on the unit.

You got 25LB stamped on your unit!?! damn boy, how do you walk??? :p

U always count the bar when the weight of the bar is 45lbs in other cases like an ez-curl bar or smith machine just count the weight that you add.

Absolutely count it!
