i'll admit i'm guilty i dont train abs like i should. well i pulled my back at work the other day, went to the chiropractor and he said that i needed to strenghten my abs because my back is alot stronger than the front, it was putting stress on my lower back. just a word of warning, learn from my mistakes:mad::cry: :yell:

well thats the way i was but the ways this shit hurts i dont think i will ever neglect them again!2-3 days a week till i die!

I try to train them twice a week. Once on Monday with arms. Once on Friday with back. Some weeks I'm just not in the mood after deadlifts.

I do 50 crunches every morning before breakfast. A side benefit is it helps get the shit out.

How many of you train with a belt? If your abs are in shape, you shouldn't need a belt. Using a belt will actually do more harm than good by not allowing your mid-section muscles to strengthen.

:toilet: OH MY!

Is it ok to work your abs everyday? I do crunches and the ab machine everyday I go to the gym.

I really don't train abs very often. I feel that they get alot of attention from all my other lifts and right now they don't show that much anyway. In the summer time I will usually train my abs once a week.

Excellent post! The core of your body...the abs and lower back...form the foundation for all activity and strength. Do not neglect these areas!

diet first, train second or a combination of both

just a reply to all guys who don't train abs

I havent trained abs for very long should i train abs or lose weight first I read you should lose all fat first or you are wasting your time . Are crunches superior to full situps?:thumb:

you will never be wasting your time by training your abs. if you have fat covering them they won't show even if you train the hard but its still a good idea to hit them.

Train abs while dieting to lose fat. Do not neglect this muscle group ever!

Crunches are best for isolating the abs, while full sit-ups will involve hip flexor action as well as abdominal action

Agreed. I bought a belt many years ago (before I
knew better). Train your back and you won't need
a belt.

I dont train them as i should i use to. Guess i need to get serious again.
old routine was

reverse crunches till failure then to cruches to failure for three sets:eek:
