To Bulk Or Not To Bulk

Hey everyone, I have been cutting for quite some time now. I'm currently at a crossroads. My problem is I havent lost all fat yet. I still have somewhat of a gut and those damn nagging "male boobs". My problem is I want to lose the rest of fat, but at the same time I want to begin a bulk, because I want to get huge muscles obviously! But I guess my question is, should I shed the rest of the fat or should I just start my bulk now then get rid of the fat after I get as big as I want.
 
No reason to bulk unless you want to get fat. The idea you have to bulk to gain muscle is ridiculous. You should have a great clean diet year round, if you are fat then cut up till you are not.
 
Ok, well then how do I add muscle size and mass then???

how big are you? weight and height? if you're small, yet fat (skinny fat) you would be better off eating right at maintenance or a 'lil above and you will eventually recomp your body. if you're overweight, you should get down to atleast 12% bf before you bulk or as foreman said, you'll get ever fatter.
 
I"m 22. 5' 11" and weigh 175lbs. Like I said I"m not obese I just have somewhat of a stomach and those nagging "male boobs".

Recomp instead....your weight ain't bad....I wouldn't go any lower than say 165ish at your height....so you could really slowly cut but you'd probably be better off improving your muscularity instead and eat pretty much at maintenance (or "just" slightly under).
eat clean
train smart....(look into a full body routine...check the sticky in training)
get quality sleep

simple.

Dude at 5'11, u can go as low as 150-155
i have a good amount of muscle and my last lower abs are starting to show and im at 158 -159 pound right now. Trust me I have 2 friends, same height, one is pure fat, one is pure muscle, they both weigh the same lol. I say get cut because being big dont mean shit unless u can see the muscles.

Its personal preference....not all of use are in this game to be cut and look strong but be usefull. Some of use need usefull strength and size disregarding being cut and looks. And 5'11" @ 150lbs thats one skinny fuck! I'm 5'6" and even when I was at 150 I was do damn skinny....

So I ask you this what are your ultimate goals? Do you want to be those ripped fools running around on the beach all summer or do you just want pure mass...ie looking big but not cut?
 
I guess you could say in between. I definately don't' want to be skinny. But I want to be huge but at the same time, I want my muscles to be seen. I don't want them to be covered in fat. Here is what I would ultimately like to look like: click on the picture all the way at the bottom.

I'm about 180 at 5'10" and sometimes I feel skinny, even when I was around 190 I still felt kinda small... ~150 at 5'11" is pretty skinny.


Anyway, are you NEW to weight training? If so, just eat around 3000-3500 (or around maintenance) cals a day, lift, and do cardio 2-3 times per week... You should see some good progress.
 
No I'm not new to it. I lifted of and on for a while. But I have been exercising religiously now for I'd say 2 years.
