I tore my ACL two weeks ago skiing, and am looking for advice to get both my cardio my weight training done, without doing any lower body, or typical cardio, i.e., treadmill, stationary bike, eliptical etc. Taking any and all suggestions. I'm worried about blowing up. How many days/ sets/exercises etc.

Thanks

Rowing machine or hand bike (used for arm/shoulder PT) other than that can't think of much else.

Man i feel ya. Ive had TERRIBLE knee problems for quite some time. Ive gotten both knees operated on before i was out of high school. When i was only 15 as a sophmore i hyperextened my knee in a football game but finished the game some way. Found out afterwards that i completley tore my ACL/MCL and partial tears in my miniscus, had to get complete ACL/MCL reconstruction. Junior year i blew my other knee out playing outfield in baseball. This time i tore my ACL and PCL completley. Some good luck there, ive got matching scars running both my knees now from the top my knee cap to the bottom.

Anyways, if you are going to opt out of surgery whether its just a scope or its open surgery i suggest you go out and buy a knee brace. Not one from wal-mart or meijers, im talking about a subscription titanium knee brace. Their very expensive but they are wonderful. If you got this brace i beleive you would be able to do almost any cardio hence it stabalizes it side to side.

have you gone to a doctor yet or therapist to see if you need surgery or what sort of rehab you can do?
